Acupuncture York is a friendly, community based practice run by me, Catherine Wright.
I am a qualified acupuncturist registered with the British Acupuncture Council, having trained in acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for four years at the Northern College of Acupuncture, graduating in 2006.
I have completed additional training in acupressure massage and shiatsu and hold a Diploma in Tui Na (deep tissue Chinese massage), which I frequently use as part of my treatments.
I have also completed post-graduate training in acupuncture for fertility, conception, pregnancy and childbirth and am a member of ACCT Yorkshire (Acupuncture for Conception and Childbirth Team in Yorkshire).
I have been involved in a number of reserach projects investigating the efficacy of acupuncture, most recently the ACUDEP Trial run by the Department of Health Sciences at the University of York looking at the treatment of depression with acupuncture, and also the ATLAS trial, again run by the University of York investigating the use of acupuncture and Alexander technique to treat chronic neck pain.
I am always happy to discuss by phone or email whether acupuncture may be able to help you.
